Job Summary: Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Saint Louis, MO
Respiratory Therapist Registered candidates are needed for short-term acute care, supporting adult critical care needs within a teaching environment. The role focuses on advanced respiratory therapies, including airway management, medication administration, oxygen therapy, and ventilator support. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience; BLS (Basic Life Support); RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist); RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) (hardstop); Trauma Level II experience; Epic experience; License: Missouri (MO) (submit without license OKrequires MO or compact); Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level II experience (if applicable based on listed requirements).
  • Additional Information: This position requires competency in airway management devices and suctioning, including endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal/suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy/suctioning. Medication administration is required for therapies including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, lidocaine, nitric oxide (INo), Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, and Xopenex. Oxygen therapy and ventilator management are required, including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation. Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) is required. Skills include aerosol setup (mask and trach), metered dose inhaler (MDI), nebulizer modalities (hand held, T-piece, trach collar, ultrasonic), nasal/oral suctioning, and trach collar care/management.
  • Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) is required by the compliance hard document deadline.
  • Flu Vaccination: Required (medical/religious exemptions only).
