Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered position available in the San Luis Obispo, California area. This role involves performing basic and critical respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on neonatal intensive care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers rotating night shifts with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week.

Schedule: Night shifts, 1900 to 0730; 3 x 12-hour shifts, rotating days with no set schedule, minimum 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program; Credential requirements include Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT); Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license; Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from approved vendors per organization policy; minimum of 5 years of critical care experience, including 2-3 years in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with neonatal intubation experience; Must have relevant licenses and certifications at the time of application.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neonatal transports and ventilator management.
Additional Information: On occasion, neonatal transports may be required. The role involves assessing and documenting prescribed therapies, administering aerosol and oxygen therapy, drawing arterial blood gases, caring for ventilator patients, performing pulmonary function tests, and serving as a resource to medical staff regarding respiratory care. The position is represented by SEIU.
