Job Summary:
Pathology Assistant (PA) position located in a healthcare facility. The role involves assisting with surgical specimen and frozen section dissection, ensuring accurate gross descriptions, and supporting laboratory operations. The position requires a professional committed to delivering high-quality specimen processing and collaborating effectively with pathologists and healthcare providers.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Completion of NAACLS Accredited Pathologists Assistant Program, ASCP certification or exam-ready with certification prior to start date, at least 1 year of relevant experience, located within the specified area, and prior grossing experience preferred
• Responsibilities: Maintain accuracy of patient identification on all specimens, perform surgical specimen dissection, provide quality material for histology studies, obtain pathologist input, perform frozen sections, maintain cryostats, dictate gross descriptions, communicate effectively with team members, ensure proper maintenance of equipment and supplies, dispose of tissues and reagents following SOPs, interpret clinical presentations and test results, perform quality control and preventive maintenance, and update related manuals to ensure CAP compliance.
• Additional Information: Demonstrates high-level customer service skills, applies technical knowledge to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic results, and performs additional duties as needed to meet department requirements.
