Job Summary
Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist (CL) Overland Park, Kansas. The organization is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to support specialized procedures, maintain sterile technique, and assist with interventional radiology workflows using PACS and EPIC. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours per shift (minimum 40 hours per week).
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS); Registered Technologist in Radiography (ARRT R); Kansas License (LRT); a minimum of 3 years of interventional radiology experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Interventional Radiology (IR) experience supporting specialized procedures and equipment workflows including PACS.
- Responsibilities:
- Assist with Interventional Radiology (IR) and Special Procedures, including preparation of the access site and maintaining a sterile field.
- Support image-guided procedures and equipment setup associated with GE systems.
- Utilize PACS during procedure workflows and support patient care activities as part of the radiology team.
- Perform duties associated with interventional procedures such as aortography, chest tube placement, embolization, gastroestomy tube placement, inferior vena cava (IVC) filter placement/removal, liver biopsy, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, pelvic angiography, percutaneous hepatic angiography, pulmonary arteriography, radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of the liver, renal angiography, selective visceral angiography, stent placement, angiography of genitourinary system, catheter/drain exchange, internal/external biliary drainage, nephrostomy, renal artery stent placement, ureteral stent placement, uterine arterial embolization, vertebroplasty, and central venous access/port placement.
- Provide central venous lines and PICC lines care and maintenance tasks as required by the procedure workflow.
- Support isolation precautions/personal protective equipment (PPE) needs and sterile technique standards.
- On-Call: Weekday call 12 nights per week; weekend call every 46 weekends (call only).
- Float: Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed, and the position may also help in radiology when IR is not busy.
- Additional Information: First-timers accepted. Flu vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions only).
