Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Outpatient (OT OP) position located in Abilene, Texas. The role involves executing specialized therapy plans designed by the Occupational Therapist (OT), guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Location: Abilene, Texas
Shift: Days, 8 hours per shift
Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Start Date: 06/15/2026
Required Qualifications: Two years of Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) experience in long-term care (LTC) setting, Texas (TX) or compact license, and Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) experience are required.
Preferred Qualifications: DOR experience is preferred.
Additional Information:
- Executes specialized therapy plans designed by the OT, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination.
- Teaches patients how to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and eating, often using adaptive techniques.
- Instructs patients and families on how to use adaptive equipment like reachers, mobility aids, or modified kitchen utensils.
- Records detailed notes on patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns, reporting these findings to the supervising OT to adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Provides emotional encouragement to patients and trains caregivers on how to assist with home programs.
- Prepares treatment areas, cleans equipment, and may handle administrative duties like scheduling and billing.
