Job Summary:
The Cytologist position is located in Edinburg, Texas. This role involves screening and diagnosing gynecologic slides, managing laboratory operations, and ensuring quality control within the cytology laboratory. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Location: Edinburg, TX
• Shift: Day shift position with flexible hours, Monday through Friday, no on-call requirement.
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours
• Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited school of cytotechnology or certification by an agency approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), with at least three years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Licensure as a Registered Cytotechnologist (CT) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is preferred.
• Additional Information: Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and medical terminology. Screens and renders final diagnoses for gynecological slides, refers abnormal slides to the pathologist, maintains quality records, and manages daily laboratory operations. Participates in quality assurance and quality control procedures, evaluates new testing methods and instrumentation, and adheres to federal and state regulations.
