Job Summary:

Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Echo (Ultrasonographer Echo) is sought for a position in Lawton, Oklahoma. The role involves assisting radiologists and physicians in performing ultrasound and sonogram procedures to support accurate diagnosis for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment. This is a full-time opportunity with a scheduled shift of 10 hours per day, totaling a minimum of 40 hours per week.

  • Required Qualifications: Certifications including registry by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography; education in ultrasound with at least six months of experience preferred and must be registry eligible; Oklahoma state license or equivalent required.
  • Specific Responsibilities:
    • Assist radiologists and physicians in obtaining ultrasound images.
    • Provide patient care activities for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
    • Explain procedures and techniques to patients and their families to ensure cooperation and understanding.
    • Instruct patients on positioning and breathing techniques for optimal exam quality.
    • Recognize significant clinical and historical information affecting scans and diagnoses.
    • Perform clerical documentation, including recording statistical information and maintaining ultrasound logs.
    • Maintain infection control procedures and universal precautions.
    • Evaluate and ensure optimal equipment operation, including inspecting for hazards and documenting performance.
    • Complete quality assurance and infection control programs daily.
    • Transport and transfer patients as needed.
    • Collaborate with medical staff to interpret ultrasound findings and relay results.
    • Maintain cleanliness and stocking of ultrasound labs.
    • Respond promptly to on-call demands and maintain equipment and infection control standards.
    • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and protect patient rights and privacy.
    • Attend continuing education to stay current with professional standards.
