Description

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking two Neurodiagnostic Technicians with Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) experience for a position located in Galveston, Texas. These roles involve working nights from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, and require candidates to bring their licenses on the first day. The assignment duration is 13 weeks, with onboarding scheduled for June 22nd. Candidates must possess the appropriate certifications and meet experience requirements as specified.

Job Details:

  • Location: Galveston, Texas
  • Schedule: Monday Thursday, 9:00 PM 7:00 AM, 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Associates degree from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program; five (5) years experience performing procedures in area of competence; epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) experience; ability to recognize abnormal EEG patterns and seizure clinical manifestations; ability to communicate clearly and concisely; ability to conform with institutional guidelines; team player; empathetic and non-judgmental; patient-centered; willingness to be flexible with shift coverage; must be able to rapidly differentiate between electroclinical event, subclinical event, and functional event and communicate effectively over intercom; current BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA); R.EEG T or higher certification; CLTM (Certification in Long Term Monitoring); TDCJ Hospital Galveston clearance required.

  • Equipment Skills: Standard EEG, IONM, EMU, EP, and EMG/NCV equipment and mechanical devices.
  • Training: Epic EMR (for HOD techs) in-person training, Cadence Limited Schedule e-learning course; date and time TBD.
  • Additional Information: HCSS traveler orientation on June 22nd; security clearance process may take up to 14 days.
