Description
Job Summary: Polysomnographer Technologist Pediatric Sleep Lab (Indianapolis, IN). Performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies by preparing patients and equipment, conducting and documenting testing, and monitoring patients throughout the study. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA); and one or more of the following credentials: Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT), Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), or Sleep Technician credential from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM).
- Preferred Qualifications: RPSGT.
- Prepares patients and equipment for ordered sleep testing, including interviewing patients to determine sleep disorder concerns and to explain testing procedures.
- Performs and documents sleep testing; monitors patients throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to address patient needs or equipment issues.
- Collects, analyzes, and integrates patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs; scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies.
- Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing; determines and reports needed repairs or replacements.
- Uses personal protective equipment as required while following Standard Precautions.
