Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT) | Pediatric Critical Care | Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The organization is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Registered to provide respiratory care across pediatric units, including PICU and Level IV NICU, with additional potential floating to general med/surg acute care units and ED/EDTC. The role requires advanced ventilator management, assessment, and ongoing support for complex pediatric respiratory needs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift (12 hours), 6:30 PM7:00 AM; minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Associate Degree or Certificate; Wisconsin Respiratory Therapist Registered (NBRC RRT required); Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA)); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (American Heart Association (AHA)); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); flu vaccination required; 35 years of pediatric critical care or NICU experience (ability to function on PICU and Level IV NICU); ability to manage respiratory care patients including ventilation support, intubations/extubations, suctioning, and treatments
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors Degree; Epic Clin Doc charting experience (preferred)
• Float: Primarily PICU and NICU, but may be required to float to general med/surg acute care units and ED/EDTC
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend, occasionally every 3rd weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Travelers may be scheduled for holidays if necessary
• Additional Information: Scrub colors: any professional scrubs. Jewelry/body piercings: a single small stud permitted in the nose; no other visible body piercings are acceptable (except ear piercings). Flesh colored or clear piercing plugs may be worn. AHA BLS, AHA PALS, and NRP are required. For Respiratory Therapists without a Wisconsin license, the organization encourages applying for Act 10 temporary licensure. Contract length is 13 weeks, with a guaranteed set schedule except during holidays when the unit is closed and during orientation week.
