Description
Job Summary
MRI Technologist in Imaging/MRI Fort Worth, TX. Under general supervision of a Radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12s - Mon, Wed, Fri - 1900-0730 (Minimum hours per week: 36)
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association (AHA) Only); Registered Technologist (ARRT) (MR) or ARMRIT; 2 years minimum working experience
- Preferred Qualifications: None listed
- Additional Information:
- Takes call, if required
- Utilizes patient communication practices using AIDET when communicating with patients to help ensure the correct exam is performed on the correct patient and to establish rapport
- Prepares patients and the procedure area, including positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, and setting equipment controls to align with exam protocols
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control standards, drug and radiation policies, and related protocols and techniques
- Maintains equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards, and reports issues to appropriate departments
- Ensures individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures
- Obtains, verifies, and maintains relevant documentation, including requisition/chart information, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, and consent forms
- Maintains medical imaging records in accordance with department policies and standards for timely interpretation
- Demonstrates current knowledge and continued education skills for newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric age groups
- Supports team development by serving as a preceptor and providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives
- Administers first aid and uses emergency equipment when needed
- Helps ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, remaining professional, reviewing patient satisfaction scores, and developing action plans when required
