Description
Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Outpatient in Richmond, Virginia. This position involves providing outpatient therapy services in a rehab setting with a focus on stroke evaluation and treatment. The role requires a licensed professional with hospital and inpatient rehabilitation experience, particularly in neuro re-education and functional activities.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift; 10-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM; minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Must have 2 years of experience in a hospital setting, inpatient rehabilitation experience, and stroke evaluation and treatment skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced skills in neuro re-education, experience with manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, functional activity, neuromuscular re-education, self-care, and functional electrical stimulation.
- Additional Information:
- Unit features 44 beds with a patient ratio of 4:1, staffed by 10 occupational therapy and physical therapy teams, along with speech therapists.
- Equipment used includes Sara Lifts, Ceiling Lifts, Bioness, and Diego.
- Documentation system used is Meditech Expanse.
- The position requires use of AIDET communication and immediate service recovery.
- The candidate may float to the acute hospital if rehab census is low.
- Dress code: Black scrub bottoms and royal blue top preferred.
- No specific certifications are mandated beyond general licensure; joint commission stroke certification preferred.
- The role starts on 09/07/2026 at the outpatient rehab department located at 1401 Johnston Willis Drive, Richmond, VA 23235.
