Job Summary: Ultrasonographer Echo (Ultra Echo) Salinas, California
The Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist performs cardiac ultrasound procedures and completes related support activities within the Cardiology service line, as directed by clinical leadership and attending physicians. This role provides age-appropriate patient care, records and documents procedure results, supports continuous quality improvement efforts, and maintains proficiency with relevant imaging and information systems. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating, 8 hour shifts; minimum 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) and completion of an ultrasound training program
- Certifications/Licensure: Adult echocardiography credential via ARDMS/RDCS or CCI registry; current RDMS (BR) registry required; Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider status per American Heart Association (AHA) standards required
- Experience (as stated): One (1) year of experience in Adult Echocardiography; at least one (1) year of experience as a breast sonographer; Epic experience within the past year for a minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months (as stated)
- Skills/Requirements: Knowledge of ultrasound equipment; fine motor skills and precise hand/eye coordination; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively about complex matters in written and oral form; analytical abilities to determine priorities and judge information; ability to manage stress with multiple priorities and patient anxieties; ability to hear, see, verbally communicate, and have tactile sense

- Additional Information:
- Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and records procedure results in Echo Lab documentation systems (charts/logs).
- Immediately informs clinical leadership of life-threatening or questionable test results.
- Assumes an active role in continuous quality improvement and continuous performance improvement efforts as assigned.
- Enters patient information into computer terminals, ensures documentation is maintained and updated, and performs preventative maintenance of cardiology equipment and accessories.
- Pulls contrast media as appropriate for procedures.
- Maintains proficiency with new related hospital technologies, including imaging and cardiovascular information systems, and serves as a workflow resource to physicians for qualitative, quantitative, and information technology advancements (including 3D/4D cardiac ultrasound and related applications).
- Participates in the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Labs (ICAEL) process for the lab.
- Supports MQSA requirements as requested or required.
