Job Summary
Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist (Invasive Cardiovascular Technology Specialist) Naples, Florida. The Invasive Cardiovascular Technology Specialist assists in cardiovascular procedures in the scrub and monitoring capacity, supporting direct patient care within the scope of practice. This role demonstrates competency in coronary intervention, peripheral intervention, electrophysiology studies, atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound, fractional flow reserve, and deployment of closure devices. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift; 4x10s, 07001730; minimum 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of an Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, with the following certification requirements: Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification (preferably) with timing options including within one year of hire or within 90 days of hire; or satisfactory completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program in an approved school with Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT (R)) credential and licensure as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the State of Florida. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association; Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 1 year of hire. Intermediate computer knowledge, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
- Preferred Qualifications: Epic experience; IABP certification; Electrophysiology (EP) experience; Structural Heart experience; Cath Lab experience; peripheral experience; Advanced competency in cannulation (required for qualified Cath/EP technologists)
- Responsibilities: Utilizes sterile process to maintain a sterile field, anticipate needs, and understand use and proper preparation of invasive devices. Practices radiation safety for patients, self, and others. Assists in patient care within scope of practice and reports observed changes in patient status for cardiologists and RN. Practices safe medication administration during physician-assisted procedures. Participates in pre-verification checklists and time outs. Completes timely and accurate event documentation reflecting hospital/unit standards, including procedure specifics (e.g., procedure type, supply use, and chronological entry). Maintains general condition of imaging and interventional equipment at all times and operates required equipment for procedures, documenting failures in a timely fashion. Completes patient care assignments within the designated shift. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to support quality patient outcomes. Populates required registry data for required registries such as Cath-PCI and ICD.
- Additional Information: During working hours, may need to float to North (not for call). Call schedule includes 12 days of call in 6 weeks with 12 weekends (FriSun).
