Description

Job Summary:
The Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based Cardiovascular Interventional Technology position involves working in a high-acuity Catheterization Laboratory environment. The role includes supporting diagnostic and interventional procedures such as RHC, LHC, STEMI/NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, Cardiomems, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, Impella, and ECMO. The technologist will be responsible for assisting with peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases, as well as hybrid procedures like TAVRs and Watchman devices, in a fast-paced, adult-only setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: On rotating shifts, with varying hours from 0600-1430, 1100-1930, 1200-2030, or 0600-1830, with potential 8-hour or 12-hour shifts to meet weekly requirements. Shift hours total 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS and ACLS; Wisconsin state license; 0 years of experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: NIHSS certification.
  • Support on the Unit: Housekeeping manages room turnover; storeroom staff handle supplies; transporters are available during daytime hours; receptionists and charge nurses provide support; RTs manage vents 24/7; hospitalist and cardiology staff are available 24/7; critical response team for codes.
  • Charting System/Equipment: EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, GE C-arms, Volcano, St. Jude, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, Anari, GE Pruka hemodynamic monitor, Fuji and ProSolvo PACS, Maquet IABP.
  • Floating: No floating required.
  • Orientation: 1-week orientation.
  • Scheduling: 24/7 staffing with day/mid shifts, occasional weekends, and call as needed. Call from 1200-2030, with a 30-minute response time, scheduled every 2-3 months for 7 days.
  • Holiday Expectations: Typically, travelers do not work holidays.
  • Additional Notes: The facility adheres to a fatigue policy limiting work hours to 60 hours weekly or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts. Scrub color is provided; free parking is available.
