Description

Job Summary: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET/CT), New York
In a PET/CT Technologist (Dual Certification) role, the technologist is responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging while supporting patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout each study. This position includes patient communication, interpreting physician orders/instructions, selecting appropriate imaging parameters, and ensuring radiation and patient safety practices are followed. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift; 10 shift hours; minimum 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED (required); Associates Degree or equivalent experience (preferred); Basic Life Support (BLS) (required); dual certification as a Nuclear Medicine and Computed Tomography Technologist (required), including Nuclear Medicine credentials through National Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (N), and CT credentials through NMTCB or ARRT (CT); New York state licensure with dual licensure for both Nuclear Medicine and CT (required); as applicable, a valid state drivers license (required).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Associates Degree or equivalent experience (preferred); 12 years PET/PETCT imaging experience (preferred).
  • Additional Information: Responsible for patient safety including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection technique; supports radiation safety/regulations and proper documentation when working with radioactive materials/patients; produces diagnostic images; communicates effectively with patients and/or radiologists; troubleshoots the scanner and peripheral equipment (including monitors, PACS, and coils); trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
