Description
Job Summary: Xray Technologist Xray Technologist (San Luis Obispo, CA)
The Xray Technologist operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body portions as ordered by physicians. Responsibilities include positioning and instructing patients prior to examinations, adjusting x-ray equipment settings, producing diagnostic images, documenting exam information, and reporting important findings to the physician. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12-hour shift length, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) Radiography; Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice; Fluoroscopy license in the state of employment; Fluoroscopy (FLUORO); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per AH policy; Fluoroscopy (FLUORO) required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Fluoroscopy (FLUORO) is required; no additional preferred qualifications were specified.
- Additional Information: Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation. Explains procedures to patients and answers questions. Prepares equipment and examination rooms for exams. Positions patients for imaging exams, monitors patients to ensure safety during exams, and verifies exams on PACS. Also documents exam information and performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Call Requirements: Call may be required, with 1 to 2 nights per week.
