Physical Therapist (Outpatient) Dallas, Texas
The Outpatient Physical Therapist supports patient care by completing comprehensive evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering discipline-specific therapy services aligned with patient needs and physician direction. The role also includes timely, accurate medical record documentation, participation in student education as assigned, and ongoing professional development. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days; 8 shift hours; minimum 40 hours per week. 7am to 6 pm MondayThursday and 7am to 12 pm Friday.
- Required Qualifications: Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school; active/applicable license for the State where work will be performed; CPR certification; 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Has this employee successfully completed an assignment with the organization previously.
- Responsibilities: Evaluates assigned patients and uses clinical reasoning to develop treatment plans and goals focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay. Completes clear, concise, accurate, and timely medical record documentation, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessment, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in accordance with approved formats and applicable guidelines and clinic policies. Ensures care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approval as indicated and necessary for clinical care. Participates in a student program as assigned, providing a positive learning environment with appropriate supervision, development of learning objectives, and student evaluation completion. Creates an individualized professional development plan with clinical management; identifies and initiates professional growth through continuing education, self-study, and involvement in professional activities and organizations. Adheres to the discipline-specific State Practice Act and other regulatory agencies, maintains professional licensure in good standing, and completes state-mandated continuing education. Performs in an ethical manner in accordance with the discipline-specific professional code of conduct. Supports and follows organizational performance improvement methodology and action plans, and offers feedback through staff meetings or focus groups as applicable.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Outpatient caseload focuses on general orthopedics, including spine, upper extremity, and lower extremity.
