Job Summary
Occupational Therapist Inpatient (OT IP) Salinas, California. The organization is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide Occupational Therapy interventions to patients per referral. Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, administering treatment, educating patients and families, documenting treatment information, and issuing appropriate adaptive equipment. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days, 8 hours; minimum 40 hours per week; shifts would be 1 weekend a month with an 8am start time.
- Required Qualifications: Master of Occupational Therapy; California Occupational Therapy license; Basic Life Support (BLS) / Healthcare Provider status per American Heart Association (AHA) standards; NICU experience; ability to perform patient assessment; care planning; educating patients and families; scheduling.
- Preferred Qualifications: Adherence to safety standards; meeting department objectives; coordination with a CCS Case Manager; development intervention; durable medical equipment intervention; high-quality and safe patient care; recording treatment information; issuing adaptive equipment; providing age-appropriate care; fine motor skills intervention; self-help skills intervention; documentation; cost-effective treatment planning; orientation of new employees; instructing therapy students; evaluating therapy students; charge therapist duties; courtesy in professional interactions.
- Additional Information: Occupational Therapy care plan services compatible with physician, patient, and family goals, including assessment and intervention in fine motor skills, self-help skills, development, durable medical equipment, and other areas specific to occupational therapy. Coordinates with a CCS Case Manager for referral to a CCS panel provider or CCS Medical Therapy Unit for patients who may continue to require occupational therapy services after hospital discharge. Regularly assumes duties of charge therapist and may assist in orientation and clinical affiliations for therapy students and therapy assistant students. Performs other duties as assigned.
