Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT) specializing in Pediatric Respiratory Therapy in Portland, Maine. This position involves providing respiratory care across various patient populations, including NICU, PICU, adult critical care, and emergency room settings. The role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, with shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 3+ years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT), current BLS certification, ACLS preferred, NRP certification for NICU, and experience in tertiary, teaching hospital settings with level 1 trauma designation.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in NICU/PICU, adult acute and critical care, and emergency departments.
- Float Requirements: Float to other units, including NICU and PICU, with some work in acute pediatrics and emergency care.
- Additional Information: The position includes working every other weekend, participating in call rotations (approximately one call shift per month), and working in a facility that utilizes equipment such as Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators, Hamilton T1 and C1 ventilators, and various respiratory therapy devices. The role requires a team-oriented, flexible individual with excellent communication skills.
