Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (Registered) position in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role involves providing respiratory support and management within a Level III Trauma Center and NICU environment. The position is focused on geriatric and adult patient care, with some pediatric patients in the emergency department. It offers a weekend rotation every other week, with specific scheduling and operational requirements.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts; weekend rotation every other week; up to 7 days' time off approved; on-call varies.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); Bachelor's degree or equivalent; minimum 1 year of relevant experience; Wisconsin state licensure; must be able to work in the United States.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilator management, CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizers, A-line placement, intubation, ventilator weaning, extubation, ABGs; familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Support on the Unit: Charting system: EPIC; equipment includes Pyxis, AVEA vents, Servo U vents, LPU 1200 vents, parapack vents for MRI, Hamilton vents for transport.
- Floating: Float rotation may be required within various hospital units.
- Additional Information:
- Patient types include mostly geriatrics and adults, with some pediatric patients in the emergency department.
- Patient-to-staff ratio of 1:1.
- Scrub color: Any, no camouflage or denim.
- Parking: Free.
- Acknowledgment of a fatigue policy limiting work to 60 hours per week or five consecutive 12-hour shifts.
