A Histologist position is available in Louisville, Kentucky, within a healthcare organization. The role involves laboratory and pathology work, supporting a close-knit, teamwork-driven department. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with leadership experience in a laboratory setting.
Job Details:
- Location: Louisville, Kentucky
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexible start times
- Required Qualifications: Certification from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or equivalent, and a Histotechnologist designation; three years of leadership experience with five years preferred; valid license ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with digital pathology and familiarity with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
- Support within the Department: Reporting to a manager overseeing 15 team members, along with 12 other team pathologists and residents in their 1st to 4th year, totaling approximately 12 residents
- Technology/Equipment: EMR system Cerner; lab equipment includes Paige, Roche, and LEICA systems
- Float: Rarely required, may occasionally need to support at a university located two blocks away
- Orientation: Lab orientation lasting 4 hours, scheduled every other Wednesday
- Additional Information: The role involves managing departmental budgets, scheduling, supply work, staffing, instrumentation, timecard approvals, and conflict resolution
