Description
Job Summary:
The Histologist position is located in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves working within a laboratory environment with a focus on pathology and histotechnologist duties. The selected candidate will support a close-knit, teamwork-driven department, conducting laboratory and histology work with occasional floating to other nearby facilities.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, beginning on 08/24/2026
- Required Qualifications: 3 years of leadership experience, 5 years of related experience preferred; active ASCP, MT or equivalent certification; Histotechnologist designation preferred; familiarity with CLIA regulations; experience with digital pathology preferred; experience navigating certification or review; skills in budget, scheduling, supply work, staffing, instrumentation, timecard approval, corrective action, and conflict management; knowledge of CAP standards.
- Support within the Department: Reporting to a manager overseeing a team of 15 members, including 12 pathologists and 12-16 residents (1st to 4th year).
- Technology/Equipment: Use of Cerner laboratory information system, Paige, Roche, LEICA equipment, digital pathology technology, and lab-specific machinery.
- Floating: Rarely needed; may occasionally visit a nearby university (approximately 2 blocks away).
- Orientation: Laboratory orientation of 4 hours occurs every other Wednesday in NEO.
- Other Notes: Scrub color is business casual. Parking is free with badge access. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork and close collaboration.
