Description

Job Summary:
The location is in Anderson, South Carolina. This Respiratory Therapist (RT) position is scheduled for day shifts with 12-hour shifts and a minimum of 36 hours per week. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves providing comprehensive and specialized respiratory care, including patient assessment, treatment planning, operating ventilatory equipment, airway management, performing diagnostic tests, and assisting with complex procedures. The RT will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, documenting patient responses, and communicating with physicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); no specific education or years of experience required; South Carolina licensing preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric patients and ventilatory equipment is advantageous
  • Additional Information: The RT will evaluate patients, perform routine and emergency procedures such as suctioning, arterial punctures, chest physiotherapy, and airway management, including endotracheal tube insertion and removal. The role includes reviewing chest X-rays, performing pulmonary function tests, assisting in procedures like bronchoscopy and chest tube placement, and maintaining accurate treatment records. The candidate must follow all policies related to laboratory testing, ventilator setup, and equipment maintenance. The RT will participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts following BLS and ACLS guidelines and communicate effectively across shifts.
