Job Summary:
Palo Alto, California - A histotechnologist position is available in a fast-paced laboratory setting. Candidates are responsible for embedding, cutting, staining, and mounting tissue sections to produce high-quality microscopic slides. The role requires strong technical proficiency, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Candidates are expected to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; ability to operate and maintain medical laboratory equipment; knowledge of tissue fixing, cutting, embedding, staining, and mounting; effective communication skills; ability to analyze data and interpret results; proficiency in laboratory techniques and regulatory requirements; Licenses: HTL-ASCP Histotechnologist certification or HTN-ASCP Histotechnician certification required within 1 1/2 years.

• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The position involves routine and specialized staining procedures, quality control, organization of specimens, and adherence to all health and safety policies. Overtime and shift coverage may be necessary. The candidate must be adaptable, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment. Participation in department safety activities and meetings is expected.
