Job Summary:
The Ultrasonographer General is a healthcare professional responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic medical sonography services in a healthcare environment located in Cortez, Colorado. This position involves performing ultrasound procedures to assist in patient diagnosis, ensuring compassionate patient care, and maintaining compliance with professional and organizational standards. The role supports the organizations mission by delivering accurate and timely diagnostic information to healthcare providers.

Job Details:

  • Location: Cortez, Colorado
  • Position: Ultrasonographer General (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
  • Start Date: 07/21/2026
  • Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited educational program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography; registration or eligibility to register with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography within 6 months of hire; current BLS/CPR certification; basic computer knowledge; strong communication skills; excellent customer service skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Perform ultrasound procedures accurately and efficiently.
    • Communicate clearly with patients and healthcare team members.
    • Ensure documentation meets established standards, including use of Cerner and PACS systems.
    • Maintain necessary credentials and certifications.
    • Provide patient education and reassurance as needed.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards.
    • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, with full range of movements including kneeling, crouching, reaching, feeling, and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Work Environment: Moderate to occasionally loud noise levels, potential exposure to chemicals and infectious waste, and environmental factors such as heat, cold, snow, and rain.
