Job Summary
A Nuclear Medicine Technologist position is available in Nebraska. This role involves performing quality diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures to provide accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment. The position requires collaboration with clinical staff, adherence to safety standards, and supporting the organizations teaching and research efforts. The work schedule consists of Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts and no call responsibilities.
Job Details
- Location: 4350 Dewey Ave, Omaha, Nebraska, 68105
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts (start time variable based on preferences and staffing)
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited nuclear medicine program; current certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and/or The American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT); AHA Basic Life Support certification; knowledge of computers interfaced with gamma cameras; knowledge of radioactive materials, doses, and flood sources; experience with patient monitoring and ancillary patient and radiation safety equipment; PET experience; willingness to work both in department and mobile settings.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior clinical experience; ability to effectively handle patients and families of all age groups; good communication and personal skills; knowledge of nuclear medicine gamma cameras from varying manufacturers.
- Additional Information: There is no licensure requirement for nuclear medicine technologists in Nebraska, but certification by a recognized national organization (ARRT or NMTCB) is mandatory to meet NRC educational and training standards.
- Certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) via NMTCB.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year required.
- Submission Requirements: Graduate from an accredited nuclear medicine program; current NMTCB and/or ARRT certification; active BLS certification; knowledge of interfaced computer systems; PET experience; willingness to work in both departmental and mobile settings.
