Description

Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist position is based in Oneonta, New York. This role involves performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The technician will operate advanced imaging equipment, assist with contrast administration, patient screening, and patient transport, and work collaboratively with radiologists who read images on-site and remotely. The assignment offers a full-time schedule with dayshift hours.

Job Details:

Location: 1 Norton Avenue, Oneonta, NY 13820
Shift Schedule: Days, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
Start Date: 07/13/2026
Required Qualifications: ARRT (MR) certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, New York state license is not required, at least 1 year of experience in MRI
Preferred Qualifications: None specified
Responsibilities:
- Operate MRI scanners, including GE 1.5 Tesla models
- Perform most common studies such as Neuro, Musculoskeletal, Abdomen, Breast, MRA/MRV, and General MRI
- Conduct advanced studies excluding Cardiac MRI
- Administer contrast agents as required
- Screen patients prior to imaging procedures
- Coordinate patient transport with hospital transport team
- Support MRI sedation cases in collaboration with nurses
- Maintain autonomy within workflow and adhere to hospital protocols
- Reader coverage by radiologists is available both on-site and remotely
Additional Information:
- MRI Technologist responsible for patient screening
- No call or holiday coverage required unless specified during call week
