Description
Job Summary:
A Physical Therapist Assistant position is available in a skilled nursing facility located in Cedartown, Georgia. The role involves providing therapy services to predominantly geriatric patient populations, including those with conditions such as COPD, CHF, hip fractures, total joint replacements, stroke, Parkinsons disease, and other medically complex cases. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with daytime hours.
Job Details:
- Location: Cedartown, Georgia
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, typically 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: State PTA license; Associates degree or above; BLS certification; 2 years of experience, accepting acute care, skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings
- Preferred Qualifications: Transfer training, gait training, home management, discharge planning, thorough documentation, team collaboration, clinical judgment regarding medical situations, therapeutic exercise
- Support within the Department: Certified Nursing Assistants on the floor; HUC (Health Unit Coordinator); Phlebotomy at the hospital; RT (Respiratory Therapist) 24/7; hospitalist available 24/7, with floor management by nurse practitioner from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM; remote telemetry technicians at main campus
- Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record system; Omnicell medication dispensing; unit-specific equipment including Hoyer lifts, modality towers, Bio Step, Motomed, parallel bars, car simulator, kitchen, practice tub, washer, and dryer
- Orientation: Five shifts of unit and facility orientation provided
- Additional Information: No weekend rotation or on-call required; no holiday work expected; RTO approval through management; no floating required; scrubs should be light gray; free parking available; team-oriented unit culture emphasizing collaboration and helpfulness
