Description

Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in Washington, District of Columbia. This position involves providing specialized respiratory care for pediatric, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and adult emergency room & critical care patients. The role requires delivering day-to-day respiratory support with a focus on advanced patient care and utilizing expert clinical skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, starting on 07/27/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RRT (Respiratory Therapist Registered) license; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications; pediatric, NICU, and adult ER & critical care experience; 2 years of experience preferred, but a minimum of 0 years required; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified
  • Float: Float rotation may be required
  • Additional Information: The respiratory therapist administers respiratory care by prescription of the physician. Responsibilities include the diagnostic evaluation (such as obtaining and analyzing physiological specimens, interpreting physiologic data, performing tests and studies of the cardiopulmonary system), management, education, and rehabilitation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. The practice includes applying and monitoring medical gases, mechanical ventilatory support, artificial airway care, bronchopulmonary hygiene, pharmacological agents related to respiratory care procedures, cardiopulmonary rehab, and hemodynamic cardiovascular support.
