Description

Job Summary:
Speech Language Pathologist (Inpatient) in Lawrence, Massachusetts. This position involves partnering with residents and healthcare team members to provide Speech Language Pathology services aimed at maximizing residents' communication and swallowing functions. The role requires evaluating and treating communication disorders and dysphagia, developing individualized care plans, and providing education to residents and caregivers.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Speech & Language Pathologist license, Certificate of Clinical Competence, ability to speak, read, write, and understand written instructions in English, 0 years of experience required
  • Preferred Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility
  • Additional Information: The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate residents per department protocols, establish therapeutic plans with functional goals, and modify treatment as needed. Responsibilities include providing consultation, documentation, recommending communication/swallowing assistive devices, and ensuring all clinical and infection control standards are maintained. The role also involves participating in team meetings, maintaining clinical competencies, and assisting with program development.
