Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Inpatient (OT IP) position located in Ellsworth, Maine. This outpatient therapy role involves providing care for adult and geriatric patients, primarily focusing on upper extremity issues, post-orthopedic, neurological, and work injury cases. The position is scheduled to start on August 3, 2026, and offers flexibility with shift hours, including options for four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts.
Job Details:
- Location: 50 Union Street, Ellsworth, ME 04605
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts; flexible hours with a preference for 5 days a week but open to 4 days of 10 hours; hours can vary.
- Required Qualifications: North American BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; Maine Occupational Therapy License; 1-year minimum outpatient occupational therapy experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations, teaching activities of daily living (ADLs), self-care, splinting, therapeutic exercises, manual therapy.
- Support within Department: Four physical therapists, two physical therapist assistants, additional occupational therapist and speech-language pathologist, two patient service representatives, and at least one assistant supervisor available.
- Technology/Equipment: Electronic Medical Records (EMR) using Cerner PowerChart; floating to inpatient OT department at the hospital may be required if outpatient volume is low.
- Orientation: First 1 to 1.5 weeks will involve orientation and partnering with staff members, gradually increasing patient load.
- Other Notes: Scrub color is flexible; solid colors or business casual attire; free parking; no weekend rotations; no on-call responsibilities; closed on major holidays, with possible work on minor holidays.
