Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Inpatient (OT IP) Bozeman, MT. This position involves providing outpatient occupational therapy services with a focus on orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation. The role aims to implement therapy programs for patients, facilitate health and wellness education, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote patient recovery and safety.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift with 8 hours per day and a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited AOTA program; Montana Licensure (Occupational Therapist); American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); 0 years of experience; physical location in Bozeman, MT, or nearby.
- Preferred Qualifications: Two years of hospital (inpatient/outpatient) occupational therapy experience.
- Essential Job Functions:
- Evaluates physical and functional status including muscle groups, motor function, upper extremity function, activities of daily living, coordination, and neurological status.
- Implements treatment plans based on evaluations, including manual therapy, modalities, therapeutic exercises, and splinting.
- Prepares and instructs therapeutic exercise programs and develops home programs.
- Documents evaluations, progress notes, treatment, education, and discharge summaries per policies.
- Educates patients, families, and caregivers in pain management, safety, and individualized care plans.
- Performs Functional Capacity Evaluations, Work Screens, and Driver evaluations if trained.
- Builds treatment plans aligned with evaluation results, utilizing therapeutic activities, neuromuscular re-education, ADL training, splinting, AAC, and mobility consultations.
- Collaborates with other health care providers for education and treatment planning.
- Schedule Requirements: Regular attendance, may include working beyond standard hours, weekends, or after-hours shifts, and on-call duties.
- Physical Requirements: Lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, fine-finger movements, and continuous visual and cognitive attention.
- Additional Information: Facility reserves the right to cancel three (3) shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances. Candidate must reside at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered.
