Description

Job Summary:
Interventional Radiology Technologist in Madison, Wisconsin. This position involves working collaboratively with vascular interventional physicians and nurses, utilizing multiple imaging modalities including fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging for diagnostic and interventional procedures. The role requires imaging inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, and intra-operative patients with a focus on critical thinking and technical proficiency.

Job Details:

  • Shift Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, start times between 7 AM and 10 AM, Monday through Friday. Travelers will be assigned 4x10-hour shifts during holiday weeks. No weekends or holidays. Possible standby, if needed.
  • Required Qualifications: Graduated from a School of Radiologic Technology, State of Wisconsin Licensed Radiographer, ARRT (R) certification, BLS (American Heart Association) certification, minimum of 2 years clinical interventional imaging experience.
  • Certifications: ARRT (R), ARRT (VI), BLS (AHA), Wisconsin Radiographer license.
  • Skills: Accessing/Managing Ports, Central Venous Access (non-tunneled/PICC lines), Central Venous Lines - Care and Maintenance, Chest Tube Placement, Computed Tomography, Embolization, Equipment Setup, Fluoroscopy, Gastrostomy Tube Placement, Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter removal, IVC imaging, Interventional Radiology procedures, PPE/Isolation Precautions, PACS, Paracentesis, PICC Lines Care, Sterile Technique, Thoracentesis, TIPS, Ultrasound.
  • Experience: Two years of acute care experience in interventional imaging or relevant specialty preferred. Experience with inpatient, outpatient, trauma, and neuro (stroke) patient populations preferred.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must pass strict Pass/Fail telemetry testing, which includes identification of lethal rhythms, with specific passing scores required on both adult and pediatric exams. Testing attempts are limited to three, with submission of a cardiac interpretation review course certificate required after initial failures.
  • Location: University Hospital, 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792. Parking permit required through UW Transportation. Other transportation options available. The facility is designated as a Magnet hospital, ranked Wisconsins #1 hospital, with national recognition as a leading teaching and referral center.
