Description
Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Inpatient (OT IP) position located in Saint Louis, Missouri. The role involves providing therapy services to adult and geriatric patient populations within an acute inpatient setting. The therapist will collaboratively establish and implement individualized treatment plans, educate patients and families, and contribute to discharge planning in a Level I trauma acute care environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Working days Monday through Friday, 0700-1530 (start time flexible up to 0800), with a requirement to work one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) during each 4-week period, resulting in a day off during that week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), valid State license, 1 year of experience in an acute care or Level I trauma hospital setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic charting system EPIC, prior inpatient acute care experience, trauma level I or II experience, and familiarity with adaptive equipment assessment.
- Additional Information: The therapist will establish treatment plans considering discharge needs and functional status, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, delegate tasks appropriately, document accurately according to departmental policies, and utilize specialized equipment such as vital carts, IPAD interpreters, and ADL supplies.
- On-call Requirement: No
- Float within Scope: Yes, may be utilized in any therapy service line within the hospital.
- Float to Sister Facilities: No
- Locals Accepted: No; the geographic radius requirement is 75 miles.
- RTO Restrictions: No more than 7 days within the 13-week contract, requiring manager approval for additional days.
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes, a minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week period.
- Special Requirements: Strong communication skills, ability to work with diverse patient populations, adaptability in a fast-paced acute care environment.
- Certifications: Current BLS certification; valid State license within Missouri or matching a compact state.
- Equipment & Supplies: Utilization of hospital-specific equipment, vital carts, IPAD interpreters, and ADL supplies.
