Job Summary:
Radiation Therapist specializing in Radiation Therapy is sought in the District of Columbia. This role involves delivering daily ionizing radiation treatments under the supervision of a radiation oncologist, collaborating with physicists and other healthcare professionals to ensure precise treatment delivery. The position offers a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with specific responsibilities centered on patient treatment and safety protocols.

Job Details:

  • Position: Radiation Therapist in Radiation Therapy
  • Location: Washington, District of Columbia
  • Schedule: Days shift, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy preferred; ARRT certification in Therapy (RT(T)) required; Department of State Health Services Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist required; BLS certification required; 3-5 years' experience as a radiation therapist and credentialed as an RTT required; valid work location within 50 miles for day shift schedule.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for daily treatment on patients with ionizing radiation under the direction of the radiation oncologist.
    • Work with radiation oncologists and physicists in performing simulation and treatment calculations.
    • Perform daily warm-up and Quality Assurance of treatment machines and C.T. simulators.
    • Provide education and informational support to patients and their families regarding treatment processes.
    • Ensure accurate transfer of data for dose calculation and follow standard treatment protocols.
    • Obtain necessary sign-offs from radiation oncologists for treatment plans and results.

    • C.T. Simulator
    • ADAC Treatment Planning System
    • VARIS System
