Description
Job Summary:
The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the direction of a physician in the Angio Interventional Radiology or Neuro Interventional Radiology services. This includes procedures such as extracranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals. The position serves healthcare professionals, patients, and regulatory agencies, with an emphasis on activities that directly impact customer service.
Job Details:
- Provides technical support for all interventional radiology and neurointerventional procedures, including discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations.
- Offers clinical assistance, sterile and non-sterile, during neurointerventional procedures such as tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization.
- Operates advanced imaging equipment following established guidelines and imaging protocols for interventional and neurointerventional patient procedures.
- Ensures safety standards are maintained and radiation safety practices are followed.
- Instructs students and residents, performing preceptor duties as needed.
- Conducts quality assurance checks on equipment.
- Assists in maintaining supply inventory for all IR and neuro IR procedures.
- Utilizes organizational information systems, including interventional radiology scheduling online.
- Reviews coding procedures for accurate billing of neuro IR and IR procedures.
- Attends lectures, seminars, and engages in educational activities to learn new techniques and technology.
- Adheres to clinical principles, methods, and procedures while performing or supervising all interventional diagnostic procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
- Complies with hospital policies and procedures related to incident reporting.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Schedule: 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, on call every other weekend; 4x10 hour shifts.
- Required qualifications include ARRT (Registered Technologist), New York State License, BLS, and neurointerventional experience.
