Description

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) position in Hackensack, New Jersey, involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients within a hospital setting. This role requires administering and managing ventilator support, performing intubation assistance, and collaborating with healthcare teams to meet patients' cardiopulmonary needs. The incumbent will deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with departmental policies under the supervision of senior staff.

Job Details:

  • Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license, NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification, BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS; 1+ year of recent respiratory therapy experience, including ICU experience and ventilator management, is required.
  • Schedule: Nights shift, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holidays are required.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid NJ license, active RRT certification, minimum of one year of ICU and ventilator experience, and willing to float to adult ICU and intermediate care areas.
  • Skills & Experience: Ability to adapt quickly to patient needs, strong teamwork, accountability, and dedication to delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
  • Additional Information: The position is a 13-week contract requiring at least one year of licensed RT experience, with flexible floating to various ICU and care floors as needed.
