Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT) specializing in Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) in Savannah, GA. This position involves providing advanced respiratory care to vented neonatal and pediatric patients, including managing ventilators, heliox therapy, and non-invasive ventilation methods such as BiPAP and CPAP, in a fast-paced, family-oriented hospital setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), 1+ year of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Pediatric ICU (PICU) critical care experience, valid state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, and relevant educational credentials
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Servo U ventilators, heliox therapy, high-frequency ventilation, and neonatal respiratory procedures
- Position Responsibilities: Able to independently admit and manage vented neonatal and pediatric patients, set up and monitor heliox therapy, perform procedures with minimal supervision, and adhere to unit-specific policies and guidelines
- Additional Information: Candidate must be able to work in a patient-centered environment utilizing advanced equipment such as the Drager VN500, F&P Bubble CPAP, HFOV, HFJV, Vaportherm, and heliox therapy equipment in an acute care setting.
