Description

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technician position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves assisting with procedure room preparation, performing hemodynamic recordings, providing patient support, and operating imaging equipment in a busy cardiac catheterization laboratory. The technician will participate in complex diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort while maintaining compliance with facility protocols.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 10-hour days, 4 shifts per week, with on-call responsibilities. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in health science obtained through an accredited institution; graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing program; two years of invasive cardiovascular technology or electrophysiology experience; proficiency in all CVIS I job duties without supervision; required certifications include registration as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and radiation badge.

  • Additional Information: This role requires operating, calibrating, and troubleshooting all equipment in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, maintaining knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, pharmacology, and invasive diagnostic and interventional supplies. The technician may assist with medication administration under supervision, perform point of care testing, and ensure thorough documentation of procedures. Training, mentoring, and staff education are integral components of the position.
