Description
Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Inpatient (OT IP) Daytona Beach, FL. This role involves planning, organizing, developing, and supervising inpatient occupational therapy treatments in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centered care while promoting safety and quality improvement.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid current State license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift, minimum of 2 years of experience, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in inpatient occupational therapy.
- Assesses patient's level of functioning upon physician orders.
- Plans and implements appropriate treatment based on assessments.
- Participates in discharge planning, including patient/family education and adaptive equipment recommendations.
- Completes documentation according to department policies, including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and students, and assists with new staff orientation.
- Communicates effectively with patients and families, ensuring understanding and engagement.
- Demonstrates safety awareness and proper safety techniques with patients and staff.
- Attends team conferences, collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensures confidentiality and maintains professionalism in all interactions.
- Exhibits flexibility in scheduling and prioritizing patient care responsibilities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
