Job Summary
San Francisco, California Cytologist. This role involves integrating knowledge, theory, and practice to accurately execute laboratory procedures in the cytology department. The position focuses on performing pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic procedures on biological specimens to assist healthcare providers in diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and disease prevention.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, ASCP-Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology as a Cytologist (CT), CDPH-Licensure by the California Department of Public Health as a Cytotechnologist (CLM/CTT), 2 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Certifications: ASCP-CT.
  • Skills: Ascitic Fluid, Bronchial, Conventional, Cytolyt, Esophageal, Gastric, HP DNA test, Inpatient lab, Outpatient Lab, PAP, Preliminary Diagnosis, Quality control/quality assurance, Specimen labeling/identification, Spinal, SurPath, Thin-Prep, Urine.
  • Additional Information: This position involves screening up to 80 GYN specimens daily, with a focus on maintaining competency in all Cytology practices, and performing procedures accurately and efficiently in a clinical laboratory setting.
