Description
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT) position is located in Chicago, Illinois. The role involves providing pediatric critical care support in a hospital setting, specifically for night shifts. The position requires full proficiency in pediatric respiratory therapy, including working in high-acuity areas such as neonatal intensive care units, pediatric intensive care units, and cardiac care units. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in acute pediatric respiratory support and be able to work across multiple specialized units.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, 12 hours per shift
- Schedule: Night shifts with work scheduled every other weekend, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU assignments, Illinois Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license, with a minimum of 2 years of recent pediatric critical care (PICU/NICU/CCU) experience in acute care Pediatric RRT roles within the current year.
- Preferred Qualifications: Recent experience working in pediatric intensive or neonatal intensive care units, ability to work in multiple specialized pediatric care areas such as NICU, PICU, CCU, and acute care floors.
- Additional Information:
- Travel is not required for this assignment.
- Float rotation is not required.
- Candidates must have recent acute care pediatric RRT experience (within the past year).
- Must be able to work in at least two of the four designated areas: NICU, CCU, PICU, and acute care floors.
- Vaccination documentation for flu and COVID-19, including doses and lot numbers, must be submitted during application.
- Orientation sessions are held every Monday.
- Dress code is scrubs in any color, with a kid-friendly option permitted.
- EMR system used is EPIC.
- During the IVS process, candidates will complete a skills checklist to confirm their competency in relevant areas.
