Description
Job Summary:
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Inpatient position in San Luis Obispo, California. This role involves providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services to patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders within a 162-bed acute care facility. The position requires adherence to state and federal licensure and certification requirements and serves as an essential member of the interdisciplinary care team.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift hours, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Master's Degree or foreign equivalent, Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor, and two years of inpatient acute experience with adults (internship experience in acute settings may be considered). Must have Modified Barium Swallow (MBS); pediatric MBS experience is a significant plus.
- Preferred Qualifications: Two years' speech-language pathology experience, American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
- Additional Information: The role involves conducting comprehensive patient assessments, assisting in data collection of patient outcomes, supervising support staff and assistants, and participating in weekend rotations approximately every third Saturday or Sunday. There may also be opportunities to float to other clinical locations as needed.
