Description

Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in San Diego, California. This position involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric patients in an acute care setting, following established clinical practice guidelines and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role requires a focus on patient safety, documentation, and resource management within a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; maintained certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); at least 2 years of recent acute care experience in respiratory care, including experience in a Level III NICU with a minimum of 95 beds and 600 deliveries per month; a high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an A.S. Degree preferred; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in neonatal intensive care and strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills; proficiency in clinical documentation and computer systems
  • Additional Information: The position emphasizes quality patient care, aseptic techniques, and universal precautions. Involves active participation in patient care rounds, thorough documentation, and effective time and resource management. Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads are essential for success in this role.
