Job Summary
Occupational Therapist Outpatient - Lebanon, New Hampshire. This inpatient adult psychiatric position involves evaluating and treating adult psychiatric patients in a rehabilitation setting. The role includes providing goal-directed therapy, discharge planning, patient and family education, and participation in departmental programs.
Job Details
- Examines, evaluates, determines prognosis, and provides intervention for adult psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting. Reports findings to other healthcare team members.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to promote patient rehabilitation using principles and theories of goal-directed, purposeful activity.
- Provides discharge recommendations, exercise programs, and family teaching.
- Participates in and supports departmental programs such as in-service education, student programs, volunteer/observation programs, and Professional Practice Committee.
- Assists patients in organizing daily activities to maximize performance, including self-care, home management, leisure, and community participation.
- Teaches stress management techniques and coping skills.
- Addresses the needs of clients who also have physical impairments.
- Develops protocols and facilitates therapy groups focused on goal setting, community re-entry, sleep hygiene, prevocational skills, body image, and ADLs/iADLs.
- Works with clients with sensory sensitivities who are overwhelmed by stimuli in groups, utilizing one-on-one interactions to explore self-regulation techniques.
- Engages in development, implementation, organization, and leadership of group activities.
- Utilizes evidence-based assessment tools.
- Delegates tasks to support personnel.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, licensure as an Occupational Therapist, no minimum experience required.
- Location: Lebanon, New Hampshire.
