Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT) Pediatric (PEDS) position in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves providing respiratory care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics within an inpatient hospital setting. The position offers the opportunity to experience different levels of patient care daily, fostering teamwork among respiratory therapists, providers, and nursing staff.
Job Details:
- Certifications/Education Requirements: ACLS, BLS (AHA), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC; minimum of 1 year of experience; state license required.
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: EKGs, bedside bronchs, and bedside spirometry.
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house 24/7: Yes.
- Lead Therapist on each shift: Yes.
- Float: Floating to different areas throughout the hospital in the respiratory therapy capacity.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 7 PM to 7 AM; weekend requirements include every third weekend for day shifts and every other weekend for night shifts.
- Holiday Requirements: Rotate with permanent staff.
- Orientation: 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation, each lasting 12 hours.
- Additional Notes: Successful RTs possess strong time management skills, flexibility, adaptability, communication, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.
- Equipment: Vents (Drager, Servo I, Carefusion), Bipaps (Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T), High flow (Airvo2).
- The candidate must meet radius rule of 50 miles and may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization.
- RTO (Request for Time Off): Must be communicated upfront, within 7 days of the start of the contract; additional RTO requests will not be approved.
- Shift notes: 12-hour nights from 7 PM to 7 AM.
