Description

Job Summary:
Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant position in Wylie, Texas. This role involves assisting physical therapists in implementing treatment plans, educating patients and families, and supporting patient recovery in an outpatient setting. The position emphasizes safety, patient-centered care, and collaborative teamwork to ensure high-quality rehabilitation services.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shift, 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school; CAPTE (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education) certification; one or more years of outpatient clinical experience; current CPR certification; active applicable license for Texas; experience with gait training, therapeutic modalities, and patient education.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous assignment experience with the agency or the organization is highly desired; experience with community re-entry training and assistive devices is a plus.
  • Additional Information: Implements treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the Physical Therapist. Assists with various therapeutic interventions such as posture training, strengthening exercises, balance exercises, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training. Trains patients in locomotion with orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices, demonstrating proper use and safety techniques. Documents patient progress, response to treatment, and provides education to patients and families. Follows all safety, infection control, and facility policies, maintaining a safe and clean treatment environment. Contributes to team-based care, participates in project initiatives, and shares recent literature findings with peers.
