Description
Job Summary:
Pharmacist Inpatient position in Coquille, Oregon. This role involves interpreting physician prescriptions and medication orders, leading pharmacy operations, and providing pharmaceutical care across all age groups in an acute care setting. The position offers a full-time schedule with days shifts starting on 08/24/2026.
Job Details:
- Location: Coquille, Oregon
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, Days shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent; current Pharmacist certification or licensure in the State of Oregon; minimum of 2 years of experience; prior leadership or management experience in an inpatient/outpatient hospital setting preferred.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
- Compounds medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
- Monitors all postings onto the patient profiles to ensure accuracy, drug allergies, drug interactions, duplicate therapy, and optimal patient care.
- Checks patient medication cassettes prior to delivery to ascertain correctness.
- Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
- Prepares IV admixtures and extemporaneous parenteral products under aseptic conditions.
- Directs pharmacy services staff engaged in compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Collaborates with medical staff on antimicrobial stewardship and medication reconciliation.
- Provides medication information to physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
- Supervises pharmacy staff and assists in hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ensures proper operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Maintains drug security, quality control, and waste disposal protocols.
- Enters patient and medication data into the pharmacy management system and maintains patient profiles.
- Educates medical students and staff regarding pharmacy services.
- Responds to inquiries, resolves issues, and participates in department and hospital policies.
