Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered in Michigan is needed for an immediate start at a healthcare organization located in Wyandotte. This position involves providing high-quality respiratory care, including ventilatory support, patient assessment, and education, within a hospital or health care facility environment. The role demands active participation in patient transport, diagnostic procedures, and respiratory therapy treatments, primarily during daytime shifts.
Job Details:
- Position Title: Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS)
- Location: Wyandotte, Michigan
- Schedule: Days, 12 hours shift hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications, Education requirements, degree, Michigan license, and 1 year of experience or more
- Additional Qualifications: ACLS certification and prior pediatric respiratory therapy experience are preferred but not mandatory
- Responsibilities:
- Provide intensive respiratory care, including operating ventilatory equipment and assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement
- Conduct patient assessments including chest x-ray review, EKG, pulmonary function studies, and arterial punctures
- Perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and airway management
- Assist with laboratory testing, monitoring, and reporting results according to facility policies
- Respond to emergency situations with CPR following BLS and ACLS standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient responses
- Communicate effectively with physicians and team members
- Perform routine maintenance and self-testing of respiratory equipment
- All duties are performed within the scope of professional license and facility policies
