Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will independently perform imaging procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. The role involves executing a variety of technical procedures with the necessary judgment and ingenuity, ensuring high-quality imaging results while maintaining patient safety and satisfaction.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program or candidate meets NMTCB alternate eligibility criteria; 2 years of experience; ARRT Certificate or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC); Basic Life Support (BLS); State License; Theragnostic competency - provide Lutetium and Xofigo treatments

• Additional Information:
  • Performs computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast
  • Maintains appropriate records of the receipt, use, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Calculates, measures, and records patient dose according to departmental policy and Radiation Safety Guidelines
  • Competently performs nuclear medicine exams at a high level of proficiency producing technically optimal results
  • Performs all quality control checks on imaging and non-imaging equipment to ensure proper performance and functioning
  • Demonstrates strong interaction skills with patients and co-workers, showing care, listening, dignity, and respect
  • Communicates instructions to patients clearly, explaining procedures to alleviate fears and ensure cooperation
  • Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and follows universal protocol during procedures
  • Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition
  • Documents patient history in electronic records as required, and ensures exams are properly coded, networked for archiving, and charges are accurately entered
